This is Jesse's original piece of his Route 66 series done for his one-man show “Oklazona” at Sharlot Hall Museum in 2009. It features his version of a 1949 Studebaker in front of a fictional Big Chief Indian store-with its proud new owners--somewhere along Route 66.

The Horse Balloon

This is one of the first series he did…American Indians in hot air balloons. He lethis fantasy take over with his “what if?” idea. If Indians could sew skins tightly enough to make waterproof canoes, why could they not create hot air balloons from skins? Thus, are his innovative “Indians Float the World” series depicting those of Woodland creatures as hot air balloons.

The Poodle

This is one of the second series he developed….with humans and dogs. Each has an American Indian riding on a favorite breed of dog.  The legend behind this series is that dogs were living apart from humans and were often in the wild dark and cold. One day the mother of the dog clan came to the humans and said that they were tired of this life and wanted to come live with the humans. In exchange the dogs promised to love and protect the humans forever. So when you think you’ve picked your dog companion, the dog really picked you.
